Kamila CK is an interdisciplinary visual artist based in the UK. Her practice merges boundaries between performance (aerial movement and physical theatre), abstract painting and Japanese Zen calligraphy in a contemporary art context.
Born in Poland, 1985, Kamila has lived and worked in the UK since 2007. She holds a Master's Degree in International Hospitality Management, Oxford, UK and worked as a marketing head for London hotels before becoming an artist at the age of 33. Since then, she studied painting at the Slade School of Fine Arts in London and completed a Professional Course in Circus Arts with AirCraft Circus Academy, London. She had the great fortune of studying Japanese Zen calligraphy under Japanese artist and teacher, Rie Takeda, which opened her to the practice of Zen circle painting. This way of painting became a cornerstone in her practice, which she combined with five years of movement performance practices including contemporary dance and aerial (trapeze, aerial hoop and aerial silks
